Why we made The Knob Blocker - Radio knob guard
At Skookum Works, our mission is to create products that solve real-world problems and enhance safety and efficiency. The inspiration for The Knob Blocker, the portable two-way radio knob guard accessory, came directly from the field. Our founder, a member of the Squamish Search and Rescue team, experienced a serious safety concern while hanging under the long line of a helicopter. He accidentally bumped the volume down to the lowest setting on his radio, which resulted in not being able to hear anything without realizing it.

The Knob Blocker (Radio knob guard) Product Features

The Knob Blocker (Radio knob guard) - Material
We use PETG (Polyethylene terephaphthalate Glycol), a thermoplastic material for 3D printing The Knob Blocker for all models except the APX5000/6000/7000/8000 series as of April 17, 2025. PETG is one of the most popular filaments for 3D prints because it has high impact strength, durability , resistance to water intrusion and good printability offering excellent layer adhesion. PETG is a food-safe material and is recyclable.
